Sony has announced that the Japanese launch of PSP Skype functionality has been pushed back to an unconfirmed date. It was originally set for release, uh, round about now - however, the official microphone peripherals apparently failed to meet the standards of the official Skype specification, so the entire launch has been pushed back until a solution to the problem has been found.
We imagine it can't have been delayed for too long, though, because Sony has apparently told Kotaku that the launches in the US and Europe will not be affected, and 'will coincide with the end of January firmware upgrade'. We're not sure how they'd make that release with faulty microphones, so will Japan be rescheduled for around about that time, too?
